Think of this newsletter like snow in New York City. Extremely sporadic, of varying quality, and yet hopefully still nice when it surprises us and shows up one day.
(I did not feed the pigeons or the squirrels or at least if I did I would never admit it in this newsletter.)
Here are some things that have made me happy lately:
The rumor that Meryl Streep and Martin Short might be dating.
It is my Taylor and Travis. My Jen and Ben. My Thelma and Louise (in my version, Thelma and Louise are a couple. Also the ending is different.)
Should two celebrities date just to make me happy? Honestly yes. Dating is fickle and things are hard right now, and I think my personal joy is just as good a reason as any.

A documentary that mentions the book I wrote, “A Day in the Life of Marlon Bundo” was nominated for an Oscar! Ok that is the good news. The bad news is that the documentary is about book-banning, because my book is being banned all over the country.
But wait, good news again! You can watch the documentary RIGHT HERE if you have Paramount Plus. And if you don’t, you can watch a conversation I had about the documentary at a panel for the New York Public Library. I am scared to watch it so do not tell me if I am terrible. The important part is that the other authors and advocates are AMAZING. Wow, this has been a real roller coaster.
During the Writer’s Strike last year, I wrote a short play that won an award from Philip Seymour Hoffman’s foundation
If you would like to read the play, you can download it here. (Or my other play, which is a comedy about women asking for the right to vote!)
It was a real lifeline in a hard time and I’m so grateful. In addition to money, I got to do a reading of the play starring an actual member of the cast of GILMORE GIRLS and I did not ask her a single question about why Dave Rygalski was the only good boyfriend on the show BECAUSE I AM A PROFESSIONAL.
Vitamin D. Just need to shout out Vitamin D. I was feeling terrible in a lot of weird, unexplainable ways. Muscles hurt and spasmed. Weird tingling. Blah blah blah. Naturally I thought “oh of course I am dying this is the only option, surely there is no other medical explanation that is not me dying in 5-7 days.” BUT NO! It was a Vitamin D deficiency. And now I take what can only be described as a “buttload” (sorry, but it’s a scientific term) of Vitamin D and I feel so much better!*
*Do NOT take a buttload of vitamin D unless your doctor tells you to. It will not help you if you are not deficient and it is not one of those vitamins that you can just take as much as you want with no side effects. But make sure you get some sunlight when you can!
That is all the things!! I missed all of you and maybe I will write this more regularly OR MAYBE ABSENCE MAKES THE HEART GROW FONDER

Congratulations to you and the big bad banned bunny book! Had to google to see who the actor is, since I tend to get Martin Short confused with Martin Sheen who is not Michael Sheen nor Martin Freeman and Morgan Freeman; think they might all be the same person since I haven't seen all of "them" in one room at the same time. Worse than trying to remember who was the boy-wizard, who was a hobbit, and who was a Spider Man ("they" are also rumored to be 3 different actors).
Congrats on dominating TV, print, and film.
